1 Scope and order of precedence

These terms apply to all software products (e.g., plugins, extensions, applications) provided via the WoltLab Plugin Store or directly by the Provider. By purchasing, downloading or installing, you accept these terms. The Provider’s GTC (AGB) and any store terms apply in addition. For licence scope, these terms prevail; for payment processing, store terms apply.

2 Definitions

  • Product: the software provided.
  • Licensee: the person or entity acquiring the licence.
  • Production instance: installation accessible to end users/the public.
  • Staging/Test: non-public instance used for development/QA.

3 Grant of licence and installations

A non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide, non-transferable licence is granted.
One licence permits one (1) production instance plus one (1) staging/test instance accessible only to the Licensee.
Commercial use is permitted. A single multi-domain setup on the same instance counts as one production instance; separate installations require separate licences. Agencies may use the Product in client projects; the Licensee ensures one valid licence per client/production instance.

4 Modifications, reverse engineering, branding

You may modify source code for your own use.
Distribution of modified or unmodified files, patches or forks is not permitted unless expressly allowed.
Do not remove or alter copyright/identifiers. Any visible copyright/“powered by” notice may be removed only with an available branding-free licence.
Reverse engineering is allowed only to the extent mandated by applicable law.

5 Distribution, transfer, sublicensing

Resale, rental, lending or sublicensing of the software or licence keys is not permitted. A transfer is only allowed where supported by the store and with prior consent of the Provider; upon transfer all rights of the transferring party end.

6 Updates, compatibility and support

There is no entitlement to feature, functional or compatibility updates, in particular no entitlement to updates for future major versions of the WoltLab Suite or other third-party systems unless expressly promised.
The Provider supplies updates solely within the scope of statutory warranty/remedy obligations.
Consumer contracts: legally required update obligations (including security updates) will be fulfilled to the extent required by law.
Support is owed only for defect remedy within the warranty scope. Any further support (setup, configuration, migration, customisation) is ex gratia, without legal claim and subject to availability.
Compatibility is limited to the environments stated in the product description.

7 Rights and third-party components

All IP rights remain with the Provider. Third-party/open-source components remain under their respective licences as identified in the package or documentation.

8 Payment

Payment is processed via the WoltLab Plugin Store or, for direct sales, as agreed with the Provider. The licence becomes effective upon full payment.

9 Warranty and liability

Statutory rights apply. The Provider’s GTC (AGB) apply in addition (including liability limitations).

10 Term and termination for breach

The licence is perpetual. In case of a material breach, the Provider may terminate for cause with immediate effect; use must cease and all copies be deleted.

11 Final provisions

German law applies; CISG excluded. Venue for merchants is the Provider’s seat; statutory venues apply to consumers. If any provision is invalid, the remainder remains in force; a valid rule closest to the economic intent replaces it. The German version prevails.
